MOUNT WASHINGTON -- A love for all things outdoors paid off recently for Bullitt East senior Dalton Smith when he signed to join the fishing program at Campbellsville University.

     CLERMONT -- A little dirt.

    A little smoke.

    A little fire.

    Some bent metal.

    Not enough mud.

And a whole lot of noise.

Patrons to the 2017 Bullitt County Fair got a healthy dose of all of the above last week as the weather was perfect just about every night to sit out and watch motorsports at the dirt arena.

    He has never looked back.

  • BE’s Masden headed to Bellarmine...

MOUNT WASHINGTON – Three years ago, Bullitt East’s Lauren Masden would have predicted that she would be signing grant-in-aid papers to attend the college or her choice in the spring of 2017.

Masden would have also told you that she would be signing to be a basketball player.

As it turns out, Masden had the big picture right, but she missed on the sport. Instead, the Charger senior recently signed with Bellarmine University to join the track and field program as a distance runner.

SHEPHERDSVILLE – Having friends in the right places can pay off in a lot of ways.

That was certainly the situation for Bullitt Central track athlete Colton Metcalf this spring as a well-placed suggestion to Bresica University track coach Luke Stoffel got the ball rolling for Metcalf to join the Bearcats. The push came from former Lady Cougar track athlete Kassi Gilbert who was a freshman with the Brescia track team this past spring.
