  • Central steals a win from Tigers

SHEPHERDSVILLE – The most exciting play in baseball gave Bullitt Central a win on Wednesday when Cougar junior Cameron Dukes stole home for the winning run in a 7-6 victory over Bardstown.

Bullitt Central scored three times in the first inning with the help of a double from Dukes and the maroon and gray pushed that to 4-1 with another run in the second on a single by Ethan Moore.

  • BC's Stills uses her head...

    SHEPHERDSVILLE-- A free basketball player?
That is exactly what Bellarmine University got recently when Bullitt Central senior Stephanie Still cast her lot to play with the Lady Knights starting in the fall.
Often times it is the player who gets the free ride based on her ability. In this instance, Bellarmine gets a free player based on her academic accomplishments.

  • Work is done as tennis'...

SHEPHERDSVILLE -- The final matches were contested as tennis players get ready for the Sixth Region tournament, starting in various locations on Monday afternoon.

    NORTH BULLITT

  • Kelly shuts-down BC in 5-0 North...

SHEPHERDSVILLE -- There wasn’t a lot of hoopla in the North Bullitt camp on Thursday.

Despite defeating county rival Bullitt Central 5-0 to clinch the top spot in upcoming District 23 baseball tournament, there wasn’t a lot of celebrating on the Eagle sidelines.

Yes, it was a district victory.

And, yes, it was against a county foe led  by a former NB freshman coach.

But, no, head coach Brian Wise wasn’t completely satisfied with the win.

And G.J. Moore felt his starting pitcher deserved a better fate.

  • Charger baseball did a little...

MOUNT WASHINGTON – Never a dull moment.

That is the best way to describe the week that was last week for the Bullitt East Charger baseball squad. There was a little bit of everything and despite a 2-1 record, veteran head coach Jeff Bowles was still upset after the two wins with the one loss on Tuesday, a 7-6 setback to 24th District rival Jeffersontown.

  • Renneisen’s big blast helps BE...

MOUNT WASHINGTON -- It may be the biggest softball rivalry in the region.

But that rivalry has been a bit one-sided, although super competitive.

The Mercy Jaguars had won the past seven encounters with Bullitt East. Four of the games were decided by one run and several went into extra innings.

    But that streak is over.

With one mighty swing by sophomore Lindsay Renneisen, Bullitt East would start a streak of its own.

  • BC and North softball will now...

SHEPHERDSVILLE – North Bullitt and Bullitt Central didn’t get to play their regular season softball game last Monday because of bad weather, but now the teams will get to play twice this spring.

First, the two teams still have to make-up the regular season game because it is a 23rd District game and is mandatory for the post-season seeding process.
