MOUNT WASHINGTON – Bullitt East standout Jared Osborne, the 2017 Bullitt County Player of the Year, wants basketball to be a part of his life – forever.

The next step in that long journey will have Osborne playing his collect basketball at Indiana University Southeast. The Charger senior made that decision in mid-April and then signed last month during a ceremony in the Bullitt East Media Center in front of friends, family and coaches.

During this coming season, Spalding’s men’s basketball team will include former North Bullitt players Domique Ellis along with recent signee Travis Dunnavan as well as Holt.

  • BE’s Duvall to be with All-Stars...

MOUNT WASHINGTON – Lindsey Duvall’s continued issues with her knee this spring will keep the 2017 Kentucky Miss Basketball out of action this weekend as the Kentucky All-Stars take on their counterparts from Indiana.

Still, on Monday, Bullitt East head coach Chris Stallings said that Duvall would be a part of the team this week in practice and will travel with the team on Saturday to Indianapolis for the first of the two game series. Then on Sunday she will take part in the festivities including getting her recognition for being Miss Basketball.

  • Summer gets a little bit of an...

SHEPHEDSVILLE – Some people consider summer to be the time between the last day of school and the first day of the following school year.

Others think of summer as the time between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

There are even those that think of summer as the official calendar time between June 21 and September 21. I think only weather forecasters fall into that category.

  • North’s Zachery signs for...

HEBRON ESTATES – North Bullitt senior Bryce Zachery isn’t the biggest or the fastest guy on the diamond and he doesn’t have an overpowering arm, but he does love to play baseball.

Because Zachery is also a good student, he will get the opportunity to continue to play the game that he loves at the next level as he recently signed to play for Berea College starting in the fall.

  • Bats go cold for Lady Chargers...

LOUISVILLE – The date might have been May 31, but the Bullitt East Lady Chargers played more like it was the middle of March last Wednesday in the semi-finals of the Sixth Region Softball Tournament at Ulmer Stadium on the University of Louisville campus.

Bullitt East head coach Ricky Hoffman thought that his team had put a poor start behind them with a strong final two months. However, the red and gold reverted back to old habits in the post-season, making five errors and collecting just one hit in a 6-0 loss to Butler.

  • Lady Chargers leave no doubt in...

HEBRON ESTATES – After losing in the first-round of the Sixth Region Tournament two of the past three seasons, the Bullitt East Lady Chargers left no doubt on Monday in the tourney opener as they rolled past North Bullitt 17-1.

This was the first regional level meeting in fast-pitch softball between two Bullitt County teams, but the outcome this time was never in doubt. The Lady Chargers scored three times in the top of the first inning and then scored in six of the seven innings including seven runs in the top of the seventh.
