Bullitt, Nelson both part of expansion plans

By Thomas Barr

CLERMONT -- A worldwide leader in the production of bourbon for over 200 years is looking to increase its production capacity at facilities in Bullitt and Nelson counties.

And the state of Kentucky is ready to provide some tax incentives for both.

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority has given two tax incentive packages for Beam Suntory for work at its Clermont and Boston facilities.

While there is no commitment on job creation, investments at the two plants will total over $164 million, according to information filed with the state.
