CASA collaborates with Bullitt County School System to help children

-A A +A

The Bullitt County CASA program was contacted by Kosair Charities about starting a Back to School drive to help the youngsters in the program.

With the assistance of Pat Smith Darnell, director of pupil personnel with the school system, several schools without Family Resource Centers were targeted for assistance.

With the supply list in hand, Becky Edmondson of Kosair Charities provided 60 backpacks full of supplies and books. Former Kosair Kid Sharon Sihikkel went a step further by getting her Class of 1965 at Durrett High School to donate books to the cause.

Those who assisted with the project gathered recently to see the fruits of their labors.

This is set to become an annual event.
