MOUNT WASHINGTON – It might not have been as easy as expected, but the Bullitt East Lady Chargers moved ahead early in the second quarter and then cruised past visiting Holy Cross on Tuesday in the opening round of the Girls’ Sixth Region Tournament.

The victory moved the Lady Chargers into Friday’s semi-finals where they were to take on Butler (see page A-20).

Holy Cross, the runners-up in the 21st District, came into the game with only an 11-16 record on the season. Still, the Lady Cougars led 12-11 at one quarter.
