MOUNT WASHINGTON - Football honors are rolling in for area coaches and players after a successful season for the area teams.

On Sunday, in the weather delayed halftime of the Class 5-A Kentucky State Football Championships, Bullitt Central junior running back Trevor Carnell and Bullitt East head coach Darrell Vincent were honored as the Class 5-A, District 4 Player and Coach of the year, respectively.

The honors came from the Kentucky Football Coaches Association.

Carnell broke his own rushing record at Bullitt Central this season as he finished with 2,096 yards in 11 games. He had a school record 463 yards in a victory over Valley.

Vincent turned around a Bullitt East program that had three straight four-win seasons as the Chargers went 11-2 reaching the Region 2 title game before losing to John Hardin.
