Public political forum

04/19/2018 - 6:00pm - 8:30pm

Political forums will be hosted throughout Bullitt County prior to the May 22 primary election.

The forums, sponsored by the Bullitt County Chamber of Commerce and The Pioneer News, will be held on four nights during April and May.

The schedule will be to have candidates available to meet with the public from 6-6:30 p.m. each night.

The formal program will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will wrap up around 8:30 p.m.

Candidates who are unopposed are also more than welcome to attend and will be introduced during the meet and greet portion.

Candidates for state senate, county judge/executive, sheriff and jailer will be on the program for each of the four forums.

On Thursday, April 19, the first forum will be at the Ronnie Fick Annex in Mount Washington.

Magisterial candidates from District Two will be speaking.

The second will be on Thursday, April 26, at the Lebanon Junction Community Center.

Magisterial candidates from District Four will be on this night.

The third forum will be on Thursday, May 10, at the Shepherdsville Government Center. District One magisterial candidates will speak.

The final forum will be on Tuesday, May 15, at the Hillview Government Center. Magisterial candidates for District Three will speak.

The candidates will be given general questions in advance of the forum. Candidates in the same race will receive the same questions.

Each candidate will have an opportunity to answer two questions at the forum.

There will be no questions or comments taken from the audience during the forum. There will be time before the forums and candidates may be available after the forums to personally talk with the public.

Everyone is invited to attend these forums as a way to provide some information to the voters about the candidates.
