Radio tower project getting clearer focus

-A A +A
By Thomas Barr

SHEPHERDSVILLE — The on-going efforts to get the multi-million radio communications upgrades in operation continue.

Finding the location of needed towers to make the signal connections took a positive change since the past meeting of the emergency services committee.

Danny Thompson, who supervises the Central Dispatch operation, said that in working with Motorola, the vendor overseeing the radio upgrades, the loss of the current WAKY tower on Collings Hill Road would not need a replacement tower on top of the Louisville Water Co. storage unit on Highway 245.
