ROADSHOW for the week of April 21, 2019

 Inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances may occur, so the information below is strictly of an advisory nature and is subject to change with no notice.

Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night.  Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis.

Bullitt County:

Interstate 65: Left and right shoulders closed in both directions between mile marker 114 and 115 due to construction of a new interchange. The right lane of I-65 South will be closed Monday, April 22 – Friday, April 26 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day.

KY 61 (Preston Highway): Construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway near Cooper Run Road (mile marker 11.8) due to new interchange construction at I-65.

Jefferson County:

Interstate 71: Shoulder closures possible in both directions between the Chamberlain Lane overpass and the Jefferson/Oldham County line (mile markers 9.8 to 11.3) due to geotechnical evaluation of the subgrade.

Interstate 71: Left lane will be closed in both directions at the Springdale Road overpass (mile marker 8.7) due to touch up work on concrete piers from previous bridge painting. Lane closures are possible nightly from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning. The speed limit will be reduced to 60 MPH in this work zone.

Interstate 71: Left lane will be closed in both directions at the I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway) overpass (mile marker 9.0) due to cleaning and painting of bridge beams. Lane closures are possible nightly from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following morning. The speed limit will be reduced to 60 MPH in this work zone.

Interstate 265 (Gene Snyder Freeway): Exit ramp from I-265 South to Westport Road East & Chamberlain Lane (Exit 32) will be reduced to one lane for cleaning and painting of bridge beams. Lane closures are possible daily from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Shoulder closures also possible in both directions. 

Interstate 64: The roadway will be reduced to one lane in each direction under the I-264 overpass (mile marker 12.3) due to application of masonry coating on the piers and bridge beams. Lane closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. on Monday, April 22 until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23.

Interstate 64 West: The exit ramp to I-264 West (Exit 12) is reduced to 11 feet in width due to widening construction. Some delays are possible in this work zone. The shoulder is closed under the flyover ramp to I-264 West (mile marker 12.3) due to ramp widening.

Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway) West: Lane shifts in place between I-64 and Taylorsville Road (mile markers 16.9 to 18.8) due to construction of an auxiliary lane.

US 31: Roadway is reduced to one lane in each direction on the Clark Memorial Bridge over the Ohio River (mile markers 0.0 to 1.1) due to bridge cleaning and painting. Sidewalks are closed to pedestrians and cyclists. The bridge will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. each evening until 5 a.m. the following morning.

US 31W (Dixie Highway North): The right lane is closed at Algonquin Parkway Lane (mile marker 17.0) for construction of a concrete bus pad.

US 31W (Dixie Highway) North: Lane closures and delays possible at Greenwood Avenue (mile marker 19.0)due to installation of a micro-trench for conduit and fiber optic cables. Right lane will be closed daily from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.   This process will take several weeks to complete as crews progress north to West Broadway.

US 31W (Dixie Highway): Lane closures and sidewalk closures in place between Blanton Lane and Crums Lane (mile markers 12.5 to 15.3) due to construction for access management and bus rapid transit lines. Roadway is reduced to two lanes northbound between Upper Hunters Trace and Gagel Avenue. Roadway is reduced to two lanes on southbound Dixie Highway between Blanton Lane and Upper Hunters Trace.Roadway is reduced to one lane southbound and two lanes northbound between Herbert Avenue and Crums Lane. In these areas where the lane closures are in place, the sidewalks are closed on the side where the roadwork is taking place. Pedestrians need to cross Dixie Highway at a signalized intersection and use the sidewalk on the other side of the road instead of walking through the construction work.

KY 864 (Poplar Level Road): Lane closures and delays possible between Poplar Tree Court and Lincoln Avenue near I-264 (mile marker 7.1 to 11.4) due to concrete pavement repairs. Lane closures are possible on weeknights from 7 p.m. each evening until 5 a.m. the following morning. 

KY 1447 (Westport Road): Lane closures and delays possible in both directions under I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway), mile marker 6.6, due to blast cleaning and painting of bridge beams. Lane closures are possible nightly from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.

Franklin County:

US 60 (East Main Street) Eastbound: The right lane will be closed between Douglas Avenue and Valley View Drive (mile markers 9.6 to 9.8) due to work on sidewalks, curb and gutters. Langford Avenue is closed to thru traffic from Cold Spring Avenue to the intersection with East Main Street due to sewer repairs. Drivers will not be able to turn on to Langford Avenue from East Main Street nor turn on to East Main Street from Langford Avenue. This closure will continue through April 23.

Henry County:

Interstate 71: Lane closures and delays possible in both directions between the Henry/Oldham County line and the bridge over the Little Kentucky River (mile markers 24.6 to 28.1) due to drainage work and pavement rehabilitation. Lane closures are possible nightly from 7 pm until 6 am the following morning. Shoulder closures are possible during daytime hours. The speed limit in the work zone is reduced to 55 MPH.

Oldham County:

KY 362 (Ash Avenue): Roadway is reduced to one lane between Dunnlea Drive and Ashbrooke Drive (mile marker 2.0 to 2.2) due to drainage improvement. A temporary signal is in place to control traffic through this work zone.

Shelby County:

Spencer County:

KY 1169 (Normandy Road): Roadway is closed at the bridge over Buck Creek near Yoder Tipton Road (mile marker 8.5) due to bridge replacement. The roadway will be closed through early June. Motorists will need to follow the signed detour on either side of the bridge via KY 1169 and KY 55.
