Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night.  Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis.


Bullitt County:

Interstate 65 South: Lane closures and delays possible between mile marker 108 and 110 due to concrete pavement maintenance. The right and center lanes will be closed Mon. - Thurs. and only the right lane will be closed on Fri. –Sat. All lane closures will occur from 9 p.m. each evening until 5 a.m. the following morning.


KY 61 (Preston Highway):Construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway near Cooper Run Road (mile marker 11.8) due to removal of trees and brush for new interchange to I-65.


Jefferson County:

Interstate 64 West: The exit ramp to I-264 West (Exit 12) is reduced to 11 feet in width due to widening construction. Some delays are possible in this work zone. The shoulder is closed under the flyover ramp to I-264 West (mile marker 12.3) due to ramp widening.


Interstate 264 (Watterson Expressway) West: Lane shifts in place between I-64 and Taylorsville Road (mile markers 16.9 to 18.8) due to construction of an auxiliary lane. 


US 31W (Dixie Highway) North: Lane closures and delays possible at Burnett Avenue (mile marker 18.3) due to installation of a micro-trench for conduit and fiber optic cables. Right lane will be closed daily from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.   This process will take several weeks to complete as crews progress north to West Broadway.


US 31W (Dixie Highway):Lane closures and sidewalk closures in place between Blanton Lane and Crums Lane (mile markers 12.5 to 15.3) due to construction for access management and bus rapid transit lines. Roadway is reduced to two lanes northbound between Upper Hunters Trace and Heaton Road. Roadway is reduced to two lanes on southbound Dixie Highway between Blanton Lane and Upper Hunters Trace.Roadway is reduced to one lane southbound and two lanes northbound between Herbert Avenue and Crums Lane. In these areas where the lane closures are in place, the sidewalks are closed on the side where the roadwork is taking place. Pedestrians need to cross Dixie Highway at a signalized intersection and use the sidewalk on the other side of the road instead of walking through the construction work.


KY 864 (Poplar Level Road): Lane closures and delays possible between KY 2052 (Shepherdsville Road) and East Indian Trail, mile marker 7.4 to 9.2, due to concrete pavement repairs. Lane closures are possible on weekends from 7 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday.


Franklin County:

US 60:Roadway will be closed between Lafayette Drive and Taylor Avenue (mile markers 7.1 to 7.9) due to ditch cleaning, tree removal and lighting repairs. The road will be closed Tues. Feb. 12 – Thurs. Feb. 14 from 6:00 p.m. until 11 p.m. each evening.


Henry County:

Interstate 71:Shoulder closures and delays possible between the Henry/Oldham County line and the bridge over the Little Kentucky River (mile markers 24.6 to 28.1) due to drainage work. The speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 55 MPH.


Oldham County:

I-71 North: Lane shifts in place at the KY 146 underpass (mile marker 17.4) due to overhead bridge repairs. The lane widths are reduced from 12 feet to 11 feet. The speed limit in this work zone is reduced to 60 MPH.


KY 362 (Ash Avenue): Roadway is reduced to one lane between Dunnlea Drive and Ashbrooke Drive (mile marker 2.0 to 2.2) due to drainage improvement. A temporary signal is in place to control traffic through this work zone.


Shelby County:

Routine maintenance


Spencer County:

KY 2885 (West River Road):Roadway is closed at mile marker 3.8 near Glasscock Sawmill due to embankment slide repairs. The road will remain closed thru mid-February. Motorists will need to detour this area via KY 55 and KY 652.
