• Recruitment Fair on Tuesday for Bullitt Schools

     The annual District Recruitment Fair is Tuesday, April 17th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at North Bullitt High School.

    Aspiring educators are encouraged to attend the open house style fair and bring their resumes to share with principals from all Bullitt County Public Schools.

    SHEPHERDSVILLE—Teachers are always looking for an opportunity to do just that: teach.

    Teaching their students about democracy and the power of peaceful protest is no different.

    Teachers, principals, bus drivers, counselors, friends, family and more joined together on Thursday afternoon to peacefully protest outside of Roby Elementary in Shepherdsville.

  • Lewis prepares for future with debate trip to Qatar

     Gatton Academy Class of 2018 Senior Maggie Lewis put her Arabic skills to use during a recent trip to Qatar, a sovereign country in Western Asia.

    “I have been learning Arabic for two years now and am currently enrolled in both Arabic 499 and Arabic 202 at Western Kentucky University,” she said.

    As a Bullitt Central High School sophomore in 2015, the 17 year-old daughter of Stephanie and Richard Lewis prepared applications to both the Carol Martin Gatton Academy at WKU and The Craft Academy at Morehead State University.

  • Bullitt County Public Schools Closed Friday, April 13

    The following was released by Bullitt County Public Schools at 9:49 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018:


    Bullitt County Public Schools will be closed on Friday April 13, 2018 due to a lack of sufficient substitute teachers.

    Many staff members have decided to participate in a rally in Frankfort to petition their legislators in supporting public education.

    Superintendent Dr. Keith Davis alerted all staff Wednesday morning via email and Facebook with the following correspondence.

  • UPDATE: Pre-School, Head Start spring screening Friday

     (UPDATE - 4/11, 2:00 p.m.): The Bullitt County Public School System has changed the date of its Pre-School and Head Start spring screening day.

    The original event, scheduled for Friday, Apr. 13, was postponed. The event will now be hosted on Friday, May 25, at Paroquet Springs Conference Centre in Shepherdsville.

  • Superintendent praises teachers for dedication, displeased with way pension bill approved

     SHEPHERDSVILLE -- Superintendent Dr. Keith Davis said he has reasons every day to be proud of his teachers and support staff in Bullitt County.

    On Friday, there was yet another opportunity to see how professional the employees are with the Bullitt County Public School System.

    The lengthy discussion on pension programs for educators, as well as government employees, took a very ugly turn late Thursday evening.

  • Sunday set for seniors to walk the line

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Maybe it’s global warming, but high school graduation for Bullitt County Public Schools has been delayed due to snow.

    The school board unanimously approved the graduation date of Sunday, June 10, with the ceremonies taking place at Freedom Hall in Louisville, located within the Kentucky Expo Center.

    Students can’t graduate prior to the last day of classes, and numerous school-day cancellations led to the later date.

  • Governor, come watch teachers in action

     Dear Gov. Matt Bevin:

    In response to your recent interview, I would like to formally invite you to observe the teachers at Bullitt Central High School to personally witness just how “selfish and short-sighted” they really are.

    If you get here early enough (and I mean EARLY!), you will see the following: 

    *Teachers getting here before their contractual work day begins to meet with students that have been absent or are perhaps just “not quite getting it”;

  • Shrek the Musical

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - The Bullitt Central Drama Club’s latest effort had students flying high.

    The club presented “Shrek The Musical Jr.” based on the popular Disney tale.

    As part of the production, ZFX Flying Effects worked with the club to help a few of the actors fly across the Bullitt Central stage.

    The Drama Club is directed by Bullitt Central instructor Sara Anderson, who gave credit to the students for taking charge and working very hard to offer a special family-friendly production.
