  • 9/11 Not Forgotten

    SHEPHERDSVILLE - Bullitt County's down-home charm and sturdy patriotism have helped lay a foundation for a new 9/11 memorial.

    The American Fallen Warriors Memorial Foundation (AFWMF) Gold Star 11 Tour stopped at Shepherdsville City Park on its way to a new memorial site in Kansas City.

    The tour featured anchor stones from the World Trade Center slurry wall that are being transported as part of the new memorial.

  • New MW plant causing stink for some residents

     The new sewer treatment plant is causing quite a stink for some residents of Mount Washington.

    At the last city council meeting Aug. 25 resident Marshall McKinley, who lives on Becky McKinley Avenue, addressed the council about the issue.

    “I’ve been in the same house for 35 years,” he said. “Since the revamp of the sewer plant there’s evenings we just can’t go outside.”

    McKinley told the council he understands that the city’s growing, but he said something needs to be done to resolve the stench.

    Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis. 

  • Shepherdsville again met with zoning question

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - For a second straight meeting, a packed room listened as the Shepherdsville City Council discussed legalities of a potential rezoning in the Settlers Gap neighborhood near Bullitt Central High School.

    Cutting to the chase, the council agreed to send the issue to Bullitt County Planning and Zoning, along with a letter to the Bullitt County Attorney’s office to search for any legal descriptions of the property in question.

  • Little Flock will have a lot of wild activities this week

     Even though summer is coming to an end, there’s lots more fun to be had at Adventure Weekend at Little Flock Baptist Church.

    The church is located at 5515 N Preston Hwy in Shepherdsville.

    A lot of the events will feature well-known speaker Jay Lowder who puts on these adventure weekends across the country, said Mark Vincent, who is the director of Adventure Weekend.
