  • Criminal probe looks at two of 3 Thursday fires

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Bullitt County firefighters battled hot summer afternoon weather during three working house fires within two hours on Thursday.

    The state fire marshal's office is investigating each incident, two being treated as a crime scene and another involving minor injuries to two firefighters.

    Zoneton Fire units were dispatched to a working fire at 3323 E. Blue Lick Rd., located at the corner of Jeffie Way, at 11:19 a.m.

    Zoneton chief Rob Orkies said firefighters handled three separate fires within the house.

  • New laws passed by General Assembly now in effect

     FRANKFORT — New laws approved during the Kentucky General Assembly’s 2013 regular session went into effect on Tuesday.

  • Bad track

     There were no injuries documented in a single car accident that happened last Tuesday, June 25 at Highway 61 and 1020.

    According to the accident report, a 65-year-old female was driving north on Highway 61 and lost control of her vehicle.

    The car, which was a 2005 Volkswagen, went off the side of the road and overturned next to the railroad tracks.

    The female was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital as a precaution, the report said.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE -- As work continues on the new comprehensive land-use plan, some interesting information has been produced for the first couple of chapters.

  • Camp gives youngsters chance to experiment

     The first all-girl team at the Engineers of Tomorrow summer camp plans to win the robot competition Friday.

    They call themselves, “The Crazy Bots.”

  • Dirt Drag participant injured at fair

     A 13-year-old male competitor was injured last night in the dirt drag racing contest at the Bullitt County Fair last night. 

    Bullitt County Sherriff’s Department Lt. Mike Murdoch said the male lost control of his bike during the race. 

    Murdoch said the male had a dislocated left arm as a result and was unsure of any internal injuries at the time of the accident. 

  • Car runs into pharmacy: no injuries

     MOUNT WASHINGTON-- A woman ran her car into the side of Rite Aid on North Bardstown Road this afternoon.

    No injuries have been reported at this time.

    The Mount Washington Fire and Police Departments responded to the scene.

    The police department is conducting an investigation of the accident.

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – A dozen hours before taking the stage for the 2013 Miss Bullitt County Fair pageant, Elexia Claudelle Campbell felt anything but like a model.
