    Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night.  

    Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis.

  • HOLY SMOKE: Broken air vent fills Shepherdsville FBC

     An air conditioning malfunction led to smoke inside the First Baptist Church facilities Wednesday afternoon.

    Shepherdsville Fire Department responded to a fire alarm sounding at the church after 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

    Chief Layne Troutman said a belt on the air conditioning unit on the roof of the church broke and caught fire. The fan of the unit blew smoke into the third floor of the building.

  • Memorial Day 2013

     The 21st annual Memorial Day Service was hosted at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington. This year the ceremony honored the wounded warriors.

    The ceremony started with the presentation of colors and concluded with Taps.

    Other countywide Memorial Day ceremonies included an annual event at the Lebanon Junction Post Office, hosted by the VFW Post 8293 and Ladies Auxiliary.

    Guest speakers at the post office included Rep. Brett Guthrie and Post 8293 Quartermaster Kenneth C. Fehl, a World War II Navy veteran.

  • One injured as fire truck overturns on Hwy. 480

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - A firefighter received minor injuries after a ladder truck flipped over Monday afternoon.

  • Constable arrested on drug charges

     The Bullitt County Sheriffs Office reported an arrest of county constable Clifton Joel Hudson on Tuesday.

    Det. Mike Murdoch of the Sheriffs Department released the following statement:

    On May 28, 2013,  at approx. 1545 hours, the Bullitt County Sheriffs Office High Intensity Drug Enforcement Unit (HIDE) arrested Constable Clifton Joel Hudson of Meadow View Drive in Mount Washington for Trafficking in Controlled Substance.

  • Red ambulance to bring attention to dangers of cardiac arrest

     SHEPHERDSVILLE - Bullitt County EMS is seeing red; soon the rest of the county will see as well.

    A first look was provided during an official dedication ceremony for the new Cardiac Awareness Ambulance at the EMS headquarters on Saltwell Drive,

    The official working ambulance is the second on the Bullitt County EMS roster to contain a special awareness color. In 2011 EMS presented their pink ambulance to raise breast cancer awareness.

  • Pow Wow to return to the county June 1-2

     SHEPHERDSVILLE – After taking a hiatus last year, the Red Crow Indian Council will resume its annual Spirit of the Eagle Pow Wow on June 1-2.

         However, it will be done with a heavy heart.

         Linda Dishon, a long-time member of the council and organizer of the Pow Wow, recently passed away.

         Eddy Glascoe, president of the organization, said that it is a huge loss but that others in the council have stepped up to make sure the event will be held as planned.
