  • 2014 Salem Speedway season kicks off April 6

     SALEM, IN, – Salem Speedway Fueled by the Hoosier Lottery kicks-off its 68th year on Sunday afternoon, April 6th with the ICA Dumpsters Short-Track Festival.

    The O’Reilly Auto Parts Pure Stocks and Portland Recycling Front Wheel Drive Stocks are set to share the track for a full slate of racing action, including the first ever front wheel drive figure 8 race at Salem.

  • Salem Speedway 2014 pre-season test and tune

     SALEM, IN, March 14 – A pre-season test & tune session on both the infield short-track and the half-mile high banked oval is set for Saturday, March 22nd at Salem Speedway Fueled by the Hoosier Lottery reports track management.

    The three-hour practice session is open to all Salem divisions and any traveling series scheduled to compete at Salem during the 2014 season.  PNC pit gates are scheduled to open at 10:30 a.m., with practice getting underway at 12-noon.

  • Champions honored at 2013 Salem Speedway closing ceremony

     SALEM, Ind. – Track champions were crowned and numerous other honors were handed out at the 25th annual Salem Speedway Fueled by the Hoosier Lottery Awards Ceremony on Sunday afternoon.

    Over 150 drivers, owners, mechanics, sponsors and guests gathered at Cornerstone Hall in Salem for the season ending event.  The top 10 finishers in all three Salem Speedway Fueled by the Hoosier Lottery divisions were among the honorees.

  • Jimmie Johnson Wins 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship

     DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Jimmie Johnson took another step closer to stock car racing history on Sunday, claiming his sixth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway.

    Johnson, who entered the race with a 28-point lead over 2003 series champion Matt Kenseth, finished ninth in the Ford EcoBoost 400, putting his final margin over Kenseth at 19 points.

      SALEM, IN – Salem Speedway Fueled by the Hoosier Lottery closes out its 2013 season on Sunday afternoon, November 3rd with the Six Sigma Redneck Enduro 100 on the Roval.

  • 25th annual Halloween 200 Sunday at Salem Speedway

     SALEM, Ind. – The ultimate challenge of 200 grueling laps faces drivers from a multi-state area in the 25th annual Smoker Friendly Discount Tobacco Halloween 200 on Sunday, October 27th at Salem Speedway Fueled by the Hoosier Lottery.

    “It’s the most challenging and demanding race of the season at Salem,” said track general manager Richard Deaton.  “It takes a combination of driving ability and good fortune to survive the three plus hours of intense on-track action.”

  • Benjamin, 15, wins at Salem

     SALEM, Ind. - It's been a big year for the number 15 in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.

    Fifteen-year-old Kyle Benjamin won his second race of the season Saturday, winning the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic presented by Federated Car Care at the Salem Speedway Fueled by the Hoosier Lottery. Benjamin, fittingly, was driving the No. 15, which has now visited victory lane six times on the season for Venturini Motorsports.

  • Former Eagle Scout hopes to soar at ARCA debut

     Christopher Brown, will be making his professional auto racing debut in the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA), presented by Menards on Friday, September 20.

    Christopher will be driving the #29 Correct Temp Dodge in The ZLOOP 150 at Kentucky Speedway to be televised on the new Fox Sports 1 channel.

    Christopher is a 2011 graduate of Saint Xavier High School in Louisville, KY, and is currently a Junior at University of North Carolina-Charlotte pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
