Hillview Fair vendors sought
The Hillview City Fair is now accepting vendor applications for the June 6-8 event.
The fee is $42.40 and covers the entire three-day fair.

Freedom from Smoking
The Bullitt County Health Department will host its seven-week Freedom from Smoking Class.
The program begins on April 30 and runs each Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
This is a free program but you must register by calling 955-5355.
Sunrise services in MW
Mount Washington United Methodist Church will conduct Easter Sunday sunrise services at 7 a.m. on March 31.
The service will be held at the Mount Washington Cemetery. Everyone is invited to attend.
Holy Week services
Shepherdsville Christian Church will once again host the Shepherdsville Community Holy Week Worship services and fellowship lunches.
They will be held from March 25-29 from Noon until 1 p.m. each day.
Worship will be daily at Noon in the sanctuary, with a free fellowship meal in the fellowship hall to follow the service.
A special guest preacher and special music will include:
*Thursday, March 28 — Rev. Dr. Donald K. Gillett II, general minister and president of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Kentucky with music offerings by Bob Parker of Shepherdsville Christian Church. Lunch provided by Shepherdsville Christian Church.
*Friday, March 29 — Rev. Dr. George Love of Hebron Presbyterian Church with music offerings by Tony Ellis, Turnaround Center. Lunch provided by Hebron Presbyterian Church.
Donations will be accepted for the Fellowship of Concern.

National Day of Prayer
On Thursday, May 2, Noon, will be an opportunity to pray for the state of affairs in our community, in our state, and in our nation.
Join our area Pastors as they lead us to appeal to the most high God. Worship Music will be provided.
Bullitt JROTC will present the colors. The rain or shine outdoor event will be held at the Shepherdsville 1st Street Park Pavilion/Stage.
Bullitt County Ministerial Association sponsors the event.
Sunnyside to host Easter activities
Sunnyside Baptist Church will host an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, from 1-2:30 p.m.
And on March 31, sunrise Easter services will be held at 7 a.m. Breakfast will follow.

Holy Week at Bethel United Methodist
Bethel United Methodist Church will host a number of activities during Holy Week.
Maundy Thursday services will be held at 8:30 p.m. on March 28.
Good Friday services will be held at 11 p.m. on March 29.
Easter Sunday services on March 31 would begin at 9 a.m.

Community yard sale in Hillview
The Hillview Community Yard Sale will be held on April 4-7.
During this time, residents of Hillview do not need a permit to hold a yard sale.

The Bullitt County Health Department will host a Cultivating Health Together on April 2 at 11 a.m.
The workshop will include essential gardening techniques, soil preparation, plant care, nutritional benefits of growing your own food and how it contributes to a healthier diet and lifestyle.

Scholarship from Master Gardeners
The Bullitt County Master Gardeners Association will present the David Lee Puckett Memorial Scholarship.
This is a $2,000 scholarship to those majoring in horticulture, agriculture, plant pathology, landscape design,botany, forestry, entomology, environmental concerns,urban planning,land management, agronomy, soil science or allied subjects preferred but not required.
To apply,you must be a Bullitt County high school student or an approved home school program.

Join the Bullitt County Cattlemen Association for a talk on pasture management and spring cattle maintenance with Jacob Settles our regional representative from the Kentucky Beef Network.

Join local beef producers the second Tuesday of each of the odd months (Jan, March, May, July, Sept. and Novemver) to learn new techniques in herd management and earn educational credits to meet KY Ag Development Fund and Beef Quality and Care Assurance requirements.

Private Chemical Applicator Certification - April 9, 6-9 p.m.
This 3 hour training will certify you or update your certification to apply pesticides on your own property or farm. You MUST call Bullitt County Cooperative Extension to register for this training ahead of time at 502-543-2257.
Another Class will be held April 10 at 9AM-12PM.
A certified private pesticide applicator can use Restricted Use pesticides to produce any agricultural commodity on property owned or rented by him (her) or an employer, or to the lands of a farmer-neighbor, if the application is made without compensation other than trading of personal services between producers of agricultural commodities. Certified private applicators also may train workers to satisfy Worker Protection Standards.
Private applicator certification is valid for 3 years and expires on December 31 of the final year. Applicators must go through the county training program to keep their certification in effect.

Cruzin’ for Cancer car shows
The summer of car shows to raise money for cancer research is approaching.
The annual Cruzin’ for Cancer will be held on June 1, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Hillview Recreation Center on Prairie Drive. There will be food, music, raffles and a show for cars, motorcycles and trucks.
On April 13, May 11, July 13, Aug. 10 and Sept. 14, there will be monthly car shows at the Hillview Police Department from 10-3 p.m. Entry is $20.

Overdale Global reopens food pantry
The Overdale Global Methodist Church has reopened reopen its food pantry.
The church is not part of a large pantry but wants to do its part to serve the community.
God has blessed us and He has told us to “feed His sheep.”
There will be non-perishable food, such as canned vegetables and fruit, canned meat, boxed pasta, paper products and much more.
The church is located at 515 Overdale Drive next to the elementary school in Hillview.
The pantry will be open the third Tuesday of each month from 1-3 p.m.
Midnight bingo at Legion Post
The American Legion Post 157 will host a midnight bingo on the third Friday of each month.
The next event will be on Friday, April 19.
The normal bingo remains at 7 p.m. every Monday with doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
All proceeds help support veterans.

The Hillview Boxes of Love is desperately in need of food items to refill its pantry.
The pantry feeds about 600 families each month.
There is a collection box at the government center on Crestwood Lane.

The Dare to Care program in Lebanon Junction provides food on the third Monday of each month at 10 a.m.
To sign up for a food box, go to the St. Benedict parking lot. This is a new procedure to assist with traffic flow and safety in the area.

The Hillview Community Christian Church food pantry and Dare to Care program will be held on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month.

Only those in Hillview, Pioneer Village and Brooks are eligible for this site.
